Miguel and Rosa's Apartment; Tuesday Morning [09/29].

The whole thing that Rosa had to take care of in Baltimore ended up taking way longer than it should have (thank a lot, Perk, and your lack of a very specific muffin!), as in a whole overnight thing, so she shot Tightpants a text letting him know and warning him that she'd be a little pissed if he didn't leave he leftovers. Brainstormed a quick idea with Blackstone for covering her class because she didn't think she'd get back in time for it, and then got to work, though most of it was trying to talk herself down from murder and reminding herself that she was working with these Baltimore assholes, don't shoot the people you were working with, Diaz...

But when she did finally get home later the next morning, dropping a few things off downstairs in the office before heading up to the apartment, leftovers and shooting Baltimore assholes were the least of her concerns.

Because the kitchen was an absolute mess. Her first immediate thought was that Summer fucking Smith was on another baffling bout of B&E, but the thought was fleeting, that didn't add up. Destroying things wasn't exactly her M.O.; she apparently just liked rifling through people's shit and being weird, and there was webbing, there were scratches in the floor, something had happened here, it had involved her boyfriend, and it did not look good.

"Miguel?" she called out, so you knew it was serious if she was using his actual name, moving into the apartment to check the bedroom. "Anna?"

At least the dog was there, in the bedroom, oblivious and dumb and gnawing on an old boot. "Some guard dog you are," she murmured, but she was too worried to be upset, moving back to the kitchen to get a better look at the mess, look for clues, wondering what to do now and that she should probably get a chain of information going before this blew up bigger.

"Goddammit."

She was seriously going to punch this island right in the face this time, swear to god...

"Only one rip like this happened last night. So no one else has been sucked through," Barry said, pulling out another device. He paused for a second as his brain mentally went through his roster and one kid from Brooklyn definitely stood out in his mind. "This kid. Was it Miles Morales?"

"Miles was absent from my class yesterday," Barry said frowning a bit. "And the radio said he had some weird shit happen to him in the dorms. I wouldn't call that solid evidence. More anecdotal but this island isn't fucking big on coincidences."

He held up the device he had just pulled out of his pack. "This will stabilize the rift so it doesn't happen again. I doubt Miguel will be coming back this way. If he's smart he'll take Portalocity back here and be done with it. I'm assuming you'd prefer not to have a black hole open up in your apartment?"

Yes. That was sarcasm. Might as well do it, Rosa. You'd lose the security deposit and Danny has enough stress living with Steve.

Barry couldn't help but smile a little in response.

Hey. He appreciated sarcastic people!

"I'm taking that as a fucking yes," he said pointing the device at the spot where the image around the rift bent and twisted slightly before going back into place. He then began to start packing his gear away.

"This should take care of the matter in the short term. I'm trying to track down the source. Thanks to this I've eliminated a few million possibilities."

He let out a long sigh and pulled out a business card with contact information. "If I find out anything about Miguel, I'll let you know. If you hear anything or run into any other rifts, let me know."

Barry had his own snort of amusement when he saw the card. "Well then. Nice to meet you, Diaz," he said throwing his pack over his shoulder.

He was not going to comment on the ASS part.

"Look forward to working with you in the future. Or just awkwardly avoiding you in various hallways around school."

"You'll be my first fucking call," Barry promised. Sincerely even. "I won't leave you hanging."
